About the Ministry of the Interior

The Belgian Ministry of the Interior (official Dutch name: Federale Overheidsdienst Binnenlandse Zaken) prepares and implements the policy of the interior minister of Belgium. It is concerned with areas such as civil safety, crisis management, and immigration.

Enhancing readability and efficacy

U&I Learning was called on to introduce the Information Mapping® method to the ministry's department of safety and prevention. IMAP was considered an adequate means to enhance the readability and efficacy of documents such as charges, memorandums, and protocols.

Documentation audit

In the first stage of this project, U&I Learning performed an audit of the ministry's documentation. In this way it was established which documents were suitable for Information Mapping®. Later on, a training program was developed on the basis of the audit results.

IMAP® training

In a second stage U&I Learning provided IMAP® training to a large number of people within the Ministry of the Interior.
